Privacy Policy for File Transfer Link

Effective May 29, 2026

File Transfer Link is designed for direct file transfer between your own devices. Local transfers stay on your local network. Optional Cross Network Transfer uses internet relay infrastructure only when you choose to connect devices that are not reachable on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot.

App Information

This privacy policy applies to File Transfer Link, package name com.kenshilabs.filetransferlink, published by KenshiLabs.

Information We Do Not Collect

File Transfer Link does not collect, sell, or use personal data for advertising or tracking. The app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, social media SDKs, or data broker SDKs.

We do not collect personal identifiers, advertising identifiers, precise location, contacts, SMS, call logs, browser history, or cross-app tracking data.

Files You Choose to Transfer

The app accesses files only when you select them, share them into the app, receive them from another device, or open/save transferred files. Selected file names, file sizes, MIME types, and file contents may be processed locally so the app can display and transfer those files.

For local Phone Hub and app-to-app transfers, file data is transferred directly between devices over the local network or hotspot you are using. KenshiLabs does not receive those local transfer files.

For optional Cross Network Transfer, file data and transfer metadata may pass through internet relay infrastructure, including Cloudflare TURN/WebRTC services or KenshiLabs-hosted relay endpoints, only for the purpose of completing the transfer you start. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.

Nearby Pairing and Network Information

File Transfer Link may use local network information such as Wi-Fi state, local IP address, port, pairing code, room code, and nearby-device discovery messages to help your devices find each other. This information is used to establish a transfer path and is not used to track you across apps or services.

Permissions and Their Purpose

File Transfer Link requests permissions needed for file transfer, local hosting, and nearby device pairing:

Permission or AccessPurpose
InternetStarts the phone-hosted transfer page, connects devices over HTTP/WebRTC when requested, and opens Cross Network Transfer.
Network stateChecks whether a usable network is available and helps show correct connection status.
Wi-Fi stateFinds local network details needed to show connection links and pair nearby devices.
Multicast Wi-FiAllows nearby app-to-app discovery on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot.
Media and file accessReads only files or media you select, share into the app, offer for transfer, or save/open after receiving.
MicrophoneThe current Android build includes microphone permission for optional real-time connection features. Ordinary file transfer does not record microphone audio, and KenshiLabs does not collect microphone recordings.

Third-Party Services

File Transfer Link may use Cloudflare infrastructure for optional Cross Network Transfer, including TURN/WebRTC relay services and hosted transfer pages. Cloudflare may process technical network information needed to provide relay connectivity and security. Their handling of service data is governed by Cloudflare's terms and privacy practices.

If you download the app from Google Play, Google may process information related to your Play Store account, download, device compatibility, and app security according to Google's Privacy Policy. KenshiLabs does not receive your payment card details from Google Play.

Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion

Received files, transfer history, cached previews, and app settings may be stored locally on your device. You can remove local data by deleting files inside the app where available, clearing app data in Android settings, or uninstalling the app.

Cross Network Transfer rooms, relay metadata, and any temporary relay data are intended to be short-lived and used only to complete active transfer sessions. Because File Transfer Link does not require user accounts, KenshiLabs does not maintain an account profile for you to delete.

To request deletion of any File Transfer Link data associated with a support request or relay issue report, email otakuken@myyahoo.com with the subject line "File Transfer Link data deletion request". Include any room code, approximate transfer time, or support message details that can help us locate the request. We may retain limited records if required for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.

If you contact support by email, we may retain your email address and message long enough to respond and maintain support records.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal data for advertising. Data may be processed by service providers such as Cloudflare or Google only when needed for app distribution, security, relay connectivity, or support.

Security

Local transfers run between devices on your network. Cross Network Transfer uses HTTPS and WebRTC security mechanisms where supported. Transfer links and room codes should be shared only with people and devices you trust, because anyone with a valid active code or link may be able to connect during that session.

Children's Privacy

File Transfer Link is a utility app and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be published at this URL. The effective date at the top of this document will be updated accordingly.
